"Mighty Barrius" is a polymer-based self-repairing material that features a structure in which superabsorbent resin is encapsulated in polyester long fiber non-woven fabric, commonly used in waste landfill sites. When penetrative objects breach the impermeable layer, the superabsorbent resin absorbs moisture from leachate and other sources, swelling to seal the penetration point and demonstrate its self-repairing function.
